Gionee has officially announced its latest phablet for the Indian market, the GPad G3 priced at Rs. 9,999. The Gionee GPad G3 was listed in October this year on ecommerce website Snapdeal, and is currently available at a discounted price of Rs. 9,425.
The Android 4.2.1-based GPad G3 phablet is a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) smartphone with dual standby. It features a 5.5-inch display with 480x854 pixels resolution and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589 processor, coupled with PowerVR SGX544 GPU and 1GB of RAM. The GPad G3 sports a 5-megapixel rear autofocus camera with LED flash and also includes a VGA front-facing camera.

The GPad G3 bears 4GB of inbuilt storage, which is expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. Connectivity options on the phablet include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, EDGE, GPRS and 3G. The Gionee GPad G3 runs on a 2250mAh battery, and measures 157.3x79.3x9.6mm.

The Gionee GPad G3 is the latest member of the company's GPad line-up, which already includes GPad G1 and GPad G2. The Chinese handset maker launched the Gionee GPad G2 in May this year.

In the month of October, Gionee also launched its flagship smartphone in India, the Elife E6 at Rs. 22,999. The Gionee Elife E6 features a unibody design and sports a 5-inch OGS (One-Glass-Solution) AMOLED display with a full-HD resolution of 1080x1920 pixels and pixel density of 441ppi.

The Elife E6 is thin at just 6.18mm, and weighs 128 grams. It is powered by a 1.5GHz MediaTek quad-core processor, along with 2GB of RAM. The inbuilt storage offered by the phone is 32GB which is non-expandable. The Gionee Elife E6 sports a 13-megapixel auto focus rear camera with a second generation BSI sensor, along with an LED flash. It also has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with a 28mm lens. Both cameras support 1080p video recording. The smartphone runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with company's custom Amigo UI layer.

Samsung has long been rumoured to be working on a tablet sporting a 12.2-inch display, and now a new report claims that the alleged Galaxy Note 12.2 tablet has been spotted at the FCC.
As per a report by The Droid Guy, Samsung's rumoured tablet that was spotted at the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) is a non-LTE, Wi-Fi only variant with model number SM-P900. The FCC listing also reveals design of the alleged tablet.

According to the report, the tablet comes with dimensions of 295mm (height) and 204mm (width), while there is no word on the thickness. The leaked FCC schematics of the alleged tablet also reveal a stylus port at the top of the device, suggesting that the rumoured Galaxy Note 12.2 tablet will come with stylus support as seen in earlier Note tablets.

Rumoured specifications of the alleged Galaxy Note 12.2 tablet include a 12.2-inch display as the name suggests, which is likely to boast a resolution of 2560x1600 pixels, a quad-core 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor, and 3GB of RAM.

Also said to be on-board the Galaxy Note 12.2 tablet is 32GB of inbuilt storage, and an 8-megapixel rear camera alongside a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The rumoured tablet is said to run Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box.

Recently, a report suggested that the alleged Samsung Galaxy Note 12.2 tablet will be going into mass production only by the end of 2013, which ties in expectation of an unveiling at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January 2014.

Samsung has also been rumoured to be developing a 13.3-inch Android and Windows RT dual-boot tablet, as per a Korean report.

Xolo has listed another smartphone online without price or availability details, under the company's Q range, on its official site. The Q2000 is dual-SIM device with support for GSM+GSM and runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
The Xolo Q2000 smartphone expands the company's Q smartphone series which already includes phones six smartphones such as Xolo Q700, Xolo Q600, Xolo Q1000, Xolo Q1000S, Xolo Q800 and recently launched Xolo Q900, all of which are powered by quad-core processors.

The 5.5-inch IPS display on the Xolo Q2000 features a 720x1280 pixel resolution, boasting of a pixel density of 267ppi. The Xolo Q2000 continues the Q range tradition and equips a quad-core 1.2GHz MediaTek 6589W processor with a 357MHz PowerVR SGX544 GPU. It includes 1GB of RAM and 8GB of inbuilt storage which is further expandable up to 32GB. It sports a 13-megapixel rear autofocus camera with 'BSI 2' sensor and flash, while there is also a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The Xolo Q2000 packs a 2600mAh battery which the listing claims can deliver up to 17 hours of talktime and up to 520 hours of standby time.

Xolo has been aggressively launching smartphones across different price segments in the last few months. Recently, the company launched a new A-series smartphone in India, the Xolo A600 at Rs. 8,199.

The Xolo A600 features a 4.5-inch qHD (540x960) IPS display and a pixel density of 245ppi. The smartphone is powered by a dual-core 1.3GHz MediaTek 6572W processor with a Mali 400 GPU, coupled with 512MB of RAM. It runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and supports dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) functionality.

Samsung Electronics Co Ltd pledged to double its dividend yield, invest in new technology and boost marketing to topple Apple Inc in the mobile sector as it sought to ease investors' concerns over its sagging share price.

The world's leading maker of smartphones, memory chips and televisions outlined its strategy on Wednesday at a rare meeting with analysts designed to reassure investors that it is listening to complaints about low returns and poor use of capital.

But shareholders appeared unconvinced as they drove the stock more than 2 percent lower, versus a 0.1 percent rise in the wider market. Samsung trades at seven times projected earnings, while Apple trades at a premium of 12.

"Investors had expected a bag of presents from today's meeting but its dividend payout plan is disappointing," said Kim Sung-soo, a fund manager at LS Asset Management.

The second analyst meeting of its kind in eight years came after a string of record quarterly profits, which have fed a cash pile totalling $50 billion as of September without arresting a 4.7 percent slide in the share price this year.

Shareholder returns are at their lowest in five years, with investors getting just 5.1 percent of profit in 2012 compared with a 15.8 percent total shareholder return in 2007 when Samsung last bought back shares in the market.

"Our management view is that our product valuation multiple does not truly reflect our earnings growth and leadership position in the IT industry," Chief Financial Officer Lee Sang-hoon told analysts at the meeting in Seoul.

He said the South Korean giant would modify its dividend strategy based on a target yield, and flagged a more flexible approach to shareholder returns by vowing to review them every three years to ensure they reflected changes in business conditions.

Rather than specify a target dividend yield, he said the 2013 payout would be around 1 percent of the share price compared with 0.5 percent last year, a level that fueled investors' complaints that the company was hoarding cash at their expense.

Lee said the $50 billion war chest was being prepared for "significant investment" in strategic technologies, mergers or acquisitions, suggesting the company could loosen its purse strings as it chases the next big thing in mobile technology.

"I know we have been somewhat conservative in M&A but it may be different in the future. Based on this, I don't believe the current level of net cash balance is excessive," he said.

"We plan to allocate a significant portion of our annual cash flow into capex and R&D to secure future growth and shareholder return," he said.

Eyes on tabletsFaced with slowing growth in the market for its top-selling Galaxy range of high-end smartphones, Samsung said it would target the tablet segment where Apple's iPads dominate.

"Our tablet sales significantly increased already this year. So we are ready for the next step," said J.K. Shin, co-chief executive and head of Samsung's mobile business.

The mobile business brings in two thirds of Samsung's total profit, and Shin said the $228 billion company would continue to invest heavily in marketing to create "buzz" and boost sales of its latest gadgets.

"We have technologies ready to bring new innovation into the market soon. At the same time, we'll leverage our Galaxy brand, distribution channel and global networks," he said.

Samsung, whose smartphone market share rose to a record 35.2 percent in the July-September quarter versus Apple's 13.4 percent, remains a second player in the tablet market. It had 20.4 percent of the tablet business in the third quarter versus Apple's 29.6 percent, according to researcher IDC.

Shin said Samsung would expand its mobile "experience shops", hold more global events like the launch of its Galaxy S4 smartphone at Manhattan's iconic Radio City Music Hall in March, and try out new marketing formats such as collaboration with fashion shows.

Assuming conservatively that Samsung will keep its marketing budget stable at last year's 6.5 percent of sales, outlays are expected to increase 16 percent to a staggering $14.2 billion this year, on par with its R&D spending.

CFO Lee estimated R&D spending would be around $14 billion.

Apple seems to have trimmed the bill for making its latest iPad along with the tablet computer's width and weight.

The iPad Air that sells for $499 costs Apple $274 to make, based on an analysis released Tuesday by the research firm IHS Inc. That's a 13 percent decrease from the estimated $316 that it cost Apple to make the third-generation iPad introduced last year.

The iPad Air went on sale last week. IHS buys various devices and then takes them apart to assess how much the parts cost.

"While the iPad Air slims down in size, the profit margins are getting fatter," said Andrew Rassweiler, IHS's senior director of cost benchmarking services, in a statement.

Apple Inc. declined to comment Tuesday. But Chief Financial Officer Peter Oppenheimer assured analysts in a conference call last month that Apple "is going to work really hard to get down the cost curves" of its products.

The gap between Apple's costs and the iPad Air's selling price is even wider on models that offer more storage. For instance, IHS estimates the 32-gigabyte version of the iPad Air only costs Apple an additional $8.40 to make yet sells for $100 more than the 16-gigabyte model.

Lowering the bill for making the iPad Air could help Apple reverse a recent slump in its profits that has contributed to a 25 percent drop from the company's peak stock price in September 2012. The stock dipped $1.25 Tuesday to close at $525.45.

Apple's earnings have fallen from the previous year in each of the last three quarters as more people buy devices selling for less than the Cupertino, California, company's latest iPads and iPhones.

Besides snapping up cheaper products that compete against Apple, more consumers have been settling for older iPhones and smaller iPads with lower price tags, too.

The phenomenon is causing Apple's average selling prices to fall. For instance, iPads sold for an average of $439 in Apple's latest quarter ending in late September, a 14 percent decline from $508 at the same time last year.

The iPad Mini, Apple's first tablet with a screen smaller than the standard 10-inch (25-centimeter) display, is the main reason prices came down. The prices for the iPad Mini, which debuted late year, initially started at $329. That model is now selling for as low as $299 as Apple prepares to release a more sophisticated version of the Mini featuring a high-definition screen later this month. The top-of-the-line Mini will sell for $399 to help cover the costs for a more vibrant display.

New rumours have indicated that Alcatel is set to launch a new 7-inch tablet, the One Touch Pop, based on a leaked image.
The leaked image claims to reveal the upcoming tablet from Alcatel, and has been leaked by prolific tipster, @evleaks on Google+ feed. The leaked images show the alleged One Touch Pop tablet in different colour variants in dual-tone, with a white front panel and differently-hued rear panels. The leaked image suggests that the rumoured One Touch Pop would feature a sleek form-factor, and would be running an unidentifiable version of Android OS. The display of the alleged One Touch Pop tablet is seen with Alcatel's smartphone UI which also houses Google Play store. As of now, except the device's name, nothing else about the tablet (such as availability, pricing and specifications) has been revealed by the tipster.

Alcatel has been a low-profile competitor in the tablet segment and mainly targets the budget Android tablet market. Alcatel unveiled its first tablet, the One Touch Evo 8 HD at IFA in September this year.

It comes with 4GB of inbuilt storage which can be expanded up to 64GB with the help of microSD card. The tablet comes 3G and 4G connectivity options as well as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and Micro-USB. Alcatel One Touch Evo 8 HD comes with a 4160mAh battery that can deliver up to 200 hours of standby time with a charging time of 3.5 hours

It seems nothing is going Google's way - after unintentionally listing the Nexus 5 smartphone on the Play Store ahead of its expected release, the search giant has now reportedly listed the yet-to-be-announced next-generation Nexus 10 tablet.
The listing has since been pulled down, as per Phonearena, but it apparently confirmed the complete specifications of the new Nexus 10 tablet. The leaked screenshots of the Google Play store listing published by Phonearena reveal much about Google's upcoming tablet; however, there was no word about the possible pricing and availability of the device.

As per the leaked screenshot, the rumoured Nexus 10 tablet is said to come with 10.05-inch display with 2560x1600 pixels resolution and would boast a pixel density of 300ppi. Internally, the tablet is said to come powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, much like the Nexus 7 (2013) tablet, along with 3GB of RAM. It is also said to sport an 8-megapixel rear camera alongside a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera.

Further the listing also revealed that the tablet would pack a huge 9000mAh battery and weigh about 584 grams with a thickness of 7.9mm. The alleged Nexus 10 tablet is expected to run Android 4.4 KitKat.

The official product shots of the Nexus 10 tablet were also included in the leaked screenshot, which were in-line with earlier leaked render.

It is expected that the next Nexus smartphone and tablets would run Android 4.4 KitKat, and that the smartphone would be the platform lead device for the operating system, with all three due to be launched at the same event.

Systena has unveiled the Tizen build kit tablet, which becomes the first Tizen based tablet to be available in the market, however, specifically aimed at developers in Japan. The development kit is meant to help developers create tablet optimised apps in time for the upcoming launch of Tizen tablets.
The Tizen tablet comes with a 10-inch WUXGA (1920x1200) display. It is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core ARM Cortex A9 processor (unspecified chipset) along with 2GB of RAM. The tablet comes with 32GB inbuilt storage, which can be further expanded with microSD card. It runs on Tizen's latest OS iteration, the Tizen 2.1. The tablet sports a 2-megapixel rear camera and also houses a VGA front-facing camera. It will come with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity options, and be available in two colour variants, Red and White.

As of now, not many details have been shared about the availability and pricing of the Tizen tablet. In addition, Sammobile reports that Samsung can unveil its Tizen-based smartphone on October 26.

Previously, a pre-release version of Tizen 3.0 was leaked running on the Samsung Galaxy S4, giving us a first look at the alleged user-interface of the OS.

The leaked Tizen OS images revealed the lockscreen, which looked quite similar to Samsung's Touch UI. The images leaked also gave a glimpse of UI which looked a bit familiar to Windows Phone UI. The notifications appeared on the lockscreen along with some app controls. Other UI features revealed by the leaked image included a dial-pad interface which was similar to that of Android and the Music player which looked quiet colourful. The Tizen 3.0 mobile operating system has been expected to bring new features such as a secure app development environment and framework for social services and context, claims the site.

Another phablet like the Nokia Lumia 1520, the Finnish mobile manufacturer also launched its second 6-inch device, the Nokia Lumia 1320, which is being termed as an affordable phablet. The company also launched three new Asha phones, the Asha 500, Asha 502 and Asha 503.

The company states that the Lumia 1320 will be available in four colour variants such as Black, Orange, White and Yellow. Further the Finnish major notes that Lumia 1320 will start shipping in the first quarter of 2014 with an expected price of $339 before taxes and subsidies and will be first available in China and Vietnam, followed by other markets in Asia including India, apart from Europe.

The Nokia Lumia 1320 features a 6-inch IPS LCD display with 720x1280 pixels resolution and boasts Nokia's ClearBlack technology. The display has a pixel density of 245ppi (pixels per inch). It is powered by 1.7GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor along with 1GB of RAM.

The Lumia 1320 comes with 8GB inbuilt storage, which can be further expandable up to 64GB with microSD card and in addition Nokia is also offering 7GB of SkyDrive cloud storage. It sports a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and features Nokia Camera app. The Nokia Lumia 1320 runs Windows Phone 8 with Lumia Black and also features third Live Tile in Start menu.

Nokia in an effort to hype up its upcoming Nokia World event, to be held in Abu Dhabi, has quietly released another teaser.
The new teaser image shows three devices which are possibly a phablet, tablet and a laptop. The image comes with a tagline that reads, "Nokia World is on October 22, 2013. Watch the action on your screen of choice."

The large-screen phone seen in the image could be the rumoured Lumia 1520, while the tablet seen in the teaser might be the Nokia's first tablet, the Lumia 2520. Meanwhile, the laptop seen in the teaser image might be a new Microsoft-branded product, as so far, no other reports of Nokia working on a laptop have come to the fore.

Nokia recently let loose more teasers for its upcoming event, releasing multiple teaser images on Twitter.

It has been rumoured for a while that the Finnish handset maker is gearing up to launch six new devices at its October 22 event.

Meanwhile, a recent report had claimed that Microsoft and Nokia would respectively be further detailing the rumoured Windows Phone 8 GDR3 update and 'Bittersweet shimmer' firmware later this month at Nokia's October 22 event in Abu Dhabi.

Asus has just sent an invite for a press event to be held on September 17 in Taipei. The company has confirmed that it will be launching the refreshed Padfone Infinity at the event.

The invite sent by the Taiwanese vendor reveals that 'the new Padfone Infinity' will be unveiled and company's CEO Jerry Shen will host the event. The invitation was first reported by Engadget.

The invite provides little in the way of details related to the smartphone-tablet-hybrid which is expected to look quite similar to the current Padfone Infinity. Asus's Padfone Infinity line is a hybrid family that includes an Android-based smartphone which can be docked and turned into a tablet.

The yet to be unveiled Padfone Infinity has already appeared in number of leaks. Earlier reports have claimed that the alleged device is dubbed the PadFone Infinity A86. Recently, purported images of the device surfaced online that revealed the overall design of the hybrid device. The leaked images suggested that the handset's design is identical to the current PadFone Infinity. The leaked image showed an all White Infinity A86 pictured alongside the current Fonepad Infinity.

Previously, Asus's alleged PadFone Infinity A86 smartphone popped up in the GFX Benchmark results that detailed the specifications of the device.

Earlier leaks suggest that the Padfone Infinity is expected to sport a full-HD display with 1080x1920 pixels resolution; however there is no word about the size of the display, yet. The tablet is codenamed PadFone T004 and runs on Android 4.2.2. The device is likely to include expandable storage and a noise-cancelling microphone.

 Sony just officially launched its biggest smartphone ever SONY XPERIA Z ULTRA today in India.The phone will go on sale from 2 August 2013.

Sony Xperia Z Ultra is one of the sleekest phone available in the market with a thickness of 6.5mm and weighs a 212 grams.Xperia  Z Ultra sports a huge 6.4" FULL-HD display with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels and is protected with a Shatter-Proof Glass on it.It is first smartphone that comes with Sony's Triluminos Technology which was introduced at CES.Sony claims that this display technology produces great range of true natural colours to deliver true natural shades,it also includes X-Reality for mobile and Sony intelligent super resolution display analyses each image and reproduces the lacking pixel to optimize quality.


Xperia Z Ultra is powered by 2.2GHz Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 Processor and is coupled with 2GB of RAM.The Smartphone sports a Exmor RS 8MP rear Camera capable of Full-HD 1080P recording and a 2MP Front-Facing Camera.The phone offers 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded upto 64GB via micro-sd card.Xperia Z Ultra packs a 3000mAH battery which company claims will last for about 14 hours of talktime and 768 hours of standby time.The smartphone has connectivity options of LTE,3G,Wi-Fi,Bluetooth,DLNA along with NFC.


Sony Xperia Z Ultra just as it's predecessor Xperia Z and Xperia Z tablet is Waterproof and Dustproof with IP55 and IP58 certification.Xperia Z Ultra also comes with Handwriting Recognition Support and you can work on it with Pen,Pencil or stylus.The Xperia Z Ultra runs on Android 4.2.2 Version JellyBean,and comes preloaded with also new versions of Sony applications such as Album,Movies,Walkman and Sony LIV.The phone comes with 1 month package with BIGFlix movie streaming app and also with Asphalt 7 Heat Game.  


 The Sony Xperia Z Ultra is available in 3 colour ranges namely Purple,White and Black and is available in Indian Market for a price range of about INR46,990*.
