Samsung rolls out highly-anticipated Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update for Galaxy Grand Duos in India


Back in August, we had heard that Galaxy Grand Duos started relishing the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update in selected regions including Russia. Now, it seems like the owners of the best selling phablet in India are also witnessing the highly-anticipated update.
As per a report by AndriodOS, Samsung has rolled out the major update today and it is ready for download via OTA (over the air) or Samsung Kies desktop software. At this point of time, there is no official change-log, however, the Android 4.2.2 update will bring about changes in the quick settings in notification, lock-screen widgets, performance tweaks, DayDream, Gesture Typing, Photo Sphere and other features. The TouchWiz UI is also expected to see some improvements
The update measures 488MB and users will be automatically notified if it is available for their phones. Also, users of Galaxy Grand Duos can check for the update manually by heading to Settings -> About Phone -> Software Update.
It has to be noted that this is the last update to the Galaxy Grand Duos hinting that the phablet is not upgradeable to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
Talking of specs, Galaxy Grand Duos comes fitted with a 5-inch LCD capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 480x800 pixels and is backed by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM.
Further, the device includes an 8-megapixel rear snapper accompanied with a 2-megapixel front camera for video calling. There is also 8GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 64GB using a micro SD card and standard connectivity features such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HDMI, A-GPS and a 2,100 mAh battery.
