HTC and Nokia working on dual-SIM Windows Phones: Report

A new report claims that Nokia and HTC are currently working to develop dual-SIM Windows Phone devices.
Windows Phone Dang claims in a new report that seeing the massive demand for dual-SIM smartphones, both Nokia and HTC are working on such devices running Windows Phone OS.

The report further reveals that the alleged dual-SIM devices will support dual standby and will be targeted at the emerging markets. It also suggests that Nokia might not unveil the rumoured dual-SIM Lumia devices before the end of the year. HTC's reported plans for its dual-SIM Windows Phone are even less specific.

The report does not reveal any details related to the number of devices being manufactured by Nokia and HTC supporting dual-SIM. Considering that the rumour comes at a time when both the handset makers are going through tough time. Microsoft is acquiring Nokia's Devices & Services business in a deal that has poised questions over the future of Nokia's feature phones, while the Taiwan's HTC Corp reported its first quarterly losses and is under pressure to consider mergers and partnerships.

Meanwhile, Nokia is reported to be working on a dual-SIM variant of the Nokia Lumia 720, which if true would be first dual-SIM Lumia (and Windows Phone) smartphone as well.
