Rumoured HTC Butterfly 2 allegedly leaked in images

We have been hearing rumours about HTC's upcoming phablet device, the One Max, for a while now, but it seems HTC is also working on the sequel to its Butterfly 'phablet'.
The rumour comes from a Chinese source, Ctechcn and claims that HTC has the sequel to the Butterfly smartphone in development, and its release could come as soon as January 2014. The site also purportedly received some images of the alleged Butterfly 2's front panel from a source.

The leaked images reveal that the alleged sequel to Butterfly would come in three colours variants - Black, Blue and White. The front panel appears to house two capacitive buttons for back and home respectively, while a third capacitive button sits between the two, though the function is not revealed in the leaks. The front panel also includes HTC logo branding on top, below the earpiece, as in most HTC smartphones.

As for the rumoured specifications, the site alleges that the HTC Butterfly 2 will come with 5.2-inch full-HD (1080p) display and would run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. The site also claims that the device will likely be waterproof and expected to come with IPX7 certification.

As of now, there is no information about other specifications like RAM, camera, software and price of the device.

HTC globally launched the Butterfly back in December 2012, and its highlight feature was its 5-inch Super LCD 3 (1920x1080) display with Corning Gorilla Glass 2, and boasts an impressive pixel density of 441ppi (pixels-per-inch). 5-inch form factor phones were at the time considered to be phablets, but today, with most flagship

The Taiwanese handset maker released the device in India only in January with retail price of Rs. 45,990. The company also unveiled the HTC Butterfly S, which was believed to be a successor to the Butterfly earlier this year.
