Sony Xperia Z1S leaked, may be the Xperia Z1 f's international version

It looks like Sony's planning to soon introduce the compact version of its Xperia Z1 smartphone in other markets after unveiling it in Japan.

According to a tweet by the notorious @evleaks, the Xperia Z1's compact version, which was launched as the Sony Xperia Z1 f in the Japanese market, would also come in a variant known as the Xperia Z1S. Perhaps this model would be targeted at other markets. However, @eveleaks has not posted any other details about the phone, so it's not clear if the Xperia Z1S will boast the same specifications as the Xperia Z1 f.

Sony had launched the Xperia Z1 f in the Japanese market, a few days back, under Japanese telecom operator NTT DoCoMo's winter smartphone line-up. It is expected to be released in late December 2013, but no pricing details were revealed by Sony and NTT DoCoMo. The phone shares a lot with the Xperia Z1 in terms of hardware, barring the size of the display.

The Sony Xperia Z1 f (SO-02F) features a 4.3-inch TRILUMINOS HD (720x1280) display with X-Reality for Mobiles. It is powered by a 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm MSM8974 processor along with 2GB of RAM, much like its elder sibling. The Xperia Z1 f runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box and is manufactured by a single aluminium frame with tampered glass on back and front panel. It comes with 16GB of inbuilt storage which is further expandable up to 64GB with the help of microSD card.

The highlight of the Xperia Z1 f is again the 20.7-megapixel Exmor RS sensor alongside its BIONZ image processor engine and pulsed LED flash, as seen in Xperia Z1. It also includes a 2.2-megapixel front-facing camera. Connectivity options on the device include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS/ GLONASS and NFC. The Xperia Z1 f packs a 2300mAh battery with STAMINA mode and is waterproof and dust-proof smartphone, like other high-end Xperia smartphones. The Xperia Z1 f comes in multiple colours, Black, Lime, Pink and White
