HTC One's successor, M8 pegged for Q1 2014 release

HTC might launch its rumoured 2014 flagship smartphone, the device thought to be codenamed M8, by the end of Q1 2014, claims prolific phone tipster @evleaks.
While replying to a Twitter user named Julie Birchfield who asked about the release of rumoured HTC's 2014 flagship on Verizon, @evleaks said that the alleged HTC M8 could possibly be released on all four carriers in US, namely AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon by the end of March, which is contrary to earlier reports that suggested a MWC unveiling. The tweets by @evleaks said, "HTC M8 unsurprisingly destined for AT&T, among others" and "All four carriers, end of Q1 '14." Unfortunately, the tipster did not reveal any exact time frame for the launch of the alleged HTC M8.

The tweet by @evleaks might just be a rumour but if true, could mean that HTC's alleged next flagship would be out in the market ahead of other Android flagships from LG, Samsung and Sony. It's worth pointing out that HTC finally made available its 2013 flagship, the One, after the release of the Galaxy S4, ostensibly due to component shortage.

Further, a report suggested that Samsung might launch its next flagship smartphone in January, the Galaxy S5, due to disappointing Galaxy S4 sales.

Recently, HTC's rumoured 2014 flagship smartphone, the M8 was leaked in images and specifications. The leaked images revealed blue tone images of HTC's alleged M8 smartphone which appeared to be very identical to the HTC One. The purported specifications of the next HTC flagship include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 3GB of RAM and Sense 6.0 UI. The leaked specifications also hint that the alleged smartphone might boast of a 5 or 5.2-inch display.
